In this article we will discuss about the structure of Spanish Lobsters (Scyllarus) with the help of a diagram.

1. They are commonly called “Square or Spanish lobsters” and are large marine and crawling crustacears.
2. Their body is dorsoventrally flattened with well developed abdomen and greatly reduced rostrum.
3. The thoracic legs are non-chelate and uropod and telson form a fan like structure – the tail fan.
4. Gills are numerous, antennule without styocente and pleopods also reduced and not fit for swimming.
5. Carapace well developed, appendages is pairs and compound eyes paired.
6. Development through a larva – Phyllosoma.
