In this article we will discuss about the structure of Sea lemons (Doris) with the help of a diagram.
1. Commonly called “sea-slugs” or “sea lemons” and are sluggish marine molluscs.
2. Body some what ovoid in shape convex dorsally and flattened ventrally.
3. External or internal shell absent.
4. Mantle large and anus is situated on postero-dorsal side.
5. A pair of retractile tentacles rhinophores, are present along anterolateral ends.
6. Integument is loaded with large numbers of calcareous spicules and body surface is covered with white tubercles.
7. Foot ventral, flat and occupies almost the whole ventral surface.
8. Retractile, plumose and star-shaped gills are present around the anal aperture.
9. They are hermaphrodite and exhibit complete detorsion.
