In this article we will discuss about the structure of Ctenoplana with the help of a diagram.
1. It is a small, marine animal and is found on the coast of Sumatra Indo-China and Japan. Its colour is olive green or brown above.
2. It swims freely and also creeps on its ciliated ventral surface which has mouth in the centre.
3. Body is circular and dorso-ventrally flattened and has two pinnate retractile tentacles.
4. In the middle of dorsal (aboral) surface lies the sense organ with statolith surrounded by a ring of ciliated tentacles.
5. Canal system is present in a modified form.
6. There are eight small swimming plates which serve as locomotory organs.
7. Only Male gonads are present.
